A new law was passed in the US, nicely titled Move Over America. If an emergency vehicle pulls someone over, the drivers must move one lane over to pass them. This means if the option is available for you to go to a further lane, then that is what have you need to do.

What Does This Means For You?

It means all you have to do is switch over one lane. Do not pass the officer (emergency vehicle) on the closest lane next to them.

This is to protect our local authorities when they are talking to the driver's side. It is dangerous for the officer to be halfway in the road.
